GARY BASEMAN

DUMB LUCK

Be careful what you wish for! Magic Pony launches the limited edition art figure "Dumb Luck" (Japan and US versions) and showcases a rare selection of original Baseman Toby character studies. Dark and dopey, hokey and heartbreaking, Baseman's genius lies in capturing those ridiculous and oftentimes appalling aspects of being 'human'.

TOUCH MY BUNNY

GROUP EXHIBITION

This show examines the growing appearance of rabbits in contemporary artists visual work. When questioned some artists will tell you it's the ears, or the shy and genteel nature of the bunny. Others relate it to childhood or choose to use the bunny in a contrasting nature - cute mixed with a darker side.

BEHIND BLYTHE

An exploration into the life of the world’s most fashionable doll - Blythe. This incredible exhibit is the largest Blythe exhibit to take place outside of Japan. Combining production sketches, packaging and costume design, customized dolls and fashion photography gives viewers a distinct look at the creative process behind Blythe.

THE ORIGINAL TOY MONKEY

On May 26th, Gary Taxali premiered his first art figure The Original Toy Monkey at Magic Pony. Alongside the Toy Monkey, Gary exhibited a wonderful collection of small and large prints and unveiled a rare custom painted Toy Monkey figure.

Magic Pony is pleased to announce “Friends for Life” a group show by Toronto’s conceptual art gangsters - Team Macho. This event will premiere the paintings & illustrations of Team Macho as well as launch a their latest handscreened poster book and plush art toy.

Born from the graphitti, the enigmatic character Space Monkey has become synonymous with Dalek’s name and exists in a subconscious world of constant action filled with japanese influence, pop colours, mysterious holes and empty word bubbles.

MY MANIA

Hodgson takes us deeper into his abstract world influenced by nature, growth and death. Poppers, peepers, floaters, sprouts, spores, walkers, yetis and gouls interact and float in a stew of mania.This exhibit will showcase new mixed media works alongside his first publication "My Mania".
