THIS IS NOT A TOY
Designer Toys as Contemporary Art
Guest curator Pharrell Williams
Design Exchange, Toronto

This Is Not a Toy was the world’s first ever large-scale exhibition dedicated to urban vinyl as contemporary art, at Design Exchange Feb 7 - May 19, 2014. With guest curator Pharrell Williams, This Is Not a Toy is the world's first exhibition featuring a collection of contemporary artworks created by artists including Takashi Murakami, KAWS, FriendsWithYou, Coarse, Huck Gee, and Frank Kozik.

Reflecting on the artists that inspired us to form Magic Pony in 2002, we've curated Pon Pon Pony Jam, featuring work by pioneers of the designer toy movement - Pete Fowler, James Jarvis, Junko Mizuno, Nathan Jurevicius, Devilrobots, and Michael Lau.

Toronto Hearts Japan
Charity Art Auction for Japan Relief

Gladstone Hotel, Toronto

Narwhal Projects & Magic Pony present Toronto Hearts Japan, a one night raffle and five day silent art auction fundraiser for the Japan relief effort. Our hearts have been broken by news of devastated towns and people separated from their homes and families, and we want to help. Hosted by The Gladstone hotel, this event lets all of us who feel a special connection to Japan lend a hand in our own way. All proceeds will be donated to The Red Cross and to helping rebuild the Birdo Flugas Artist Centre and Community in Shiogama.
