About Us

Magic Pony is dedicated to the exhibition and promotion of the best in emerging contemporary art. We operate as a shop, gallery, and studio, combining elements of art, design, and popular culture to create a unique and memorable shopping experience. As curators, printers, and publishers, Magic Pony functions as an accessible platform for communicating and sharing exciting new visual concepts.

Founded in 2002 by Steve Cober and Kristin Weckworth, Magic Pony began in Toronto's Kensington Market that focused on importing rare designer toys from Asia for a small circle of devoted collectors. Since then, Magic Pony has grown into a storefront & gallery in the Queen West Art District, playing a fundamental role in Toronto's creative cultural fabric.

Magic Pony's curated stock features the best in diverse artistic and cultural products from around the world while also celebrates in championing local artists. From art prints to hand-made jewelry, limited-edition designer toys to art and culture publications, Japanese housewares to plush toys, Magic Pony has something that is certain to delight anyone.

With a dynamic programming range, Magic Pony's Gallery comprises illustration, graphic design, urban art, pop surrealism, video games, comics, material arts, and a DIY aesthetic. We actively explore the convergence of fine and commercial art, working with artists such as Gary Taxali, FriendsWithYou, Kozyndan, Dalek, Gary Baseman, Junko Mizuno, Jon Burgerman, Nathan Jurevicius, Tara McPherson, Team Macho and Nicoletta Ceccoli, among others. > Learn more
