Ceramicist Naomi Yasui is a recent graduate of The Ontario College of Art and Design, Material Art & Design. Yasui is interested in traditional craft practices, and the technical development and mastery of her chosen material. Her work has developed within the context of the material’s historical origin and European Industrial ceramic practice. For her collaborative project with painter Stephen Appleby-Barr, Yasui acts as craftsperson, recreating the historical process of ceramics-making. Yasui has exhibited with Magic Pony in Noble Fir and Stay Gold.
