Magic Pony was co-founded by Steve Cober & Kristin Weckworth in 2002 to showcase emerging Canadian artists and our passion for Japanese pop culture. As a combination of storefront, gallery & creative studio, Magic Pony introduces art and design into people's lives through original products, education and exhibitions.

Based in Toronto, Canada, we opened our first brick and mortar establishment in 2003 and was initially celebrated as the premiere Canadian retailer to offer limited edition art toys. For over a decade we have continued to pioneer cultural movements through a broad range of programming that presents creativity from all artistic spheres.

Connecting through a shared enthusiasm for the rare and magical, we seek to redefine what an art space should be: combining the commercial gallery paradigm with the contemporary attitude of an alternative exhibition space and the informality of a storefront. This mandate enables the professional and personal development of artists, encouraging risk-taking and allowing creative freedom, while providing the public with an inviting and accessible art space showcasing inspiring environments and diverse artistic products that foster creativity.

Magic Pony has had the privilege of working with many esteemed partners both internationally and through the Toronto arts and culture community. Notable collaborations include The Art Gallery of Ontario, The Design Exchange, Drawn & Quarterly, The Drake Hotel, FITC, Greenpeace, The Harbourfront Center, The Japan Foundation, Luminato, OCADU, Pictoplasma, Red Bull Projects, Rookie, TIFF Nexus, Toronto Comics Arts Festival, Toronto Tourism and the Make a Wish Foundation.
