Magic Pony is pleased to announce The Balancing Act: Solo Show with Joe Ledbetter . The opening reception will be held Thursday Nov 9th, 2006 from 6-10pm. Ledbetter is best known for his character driven work consisting of cute creatures that manage to make destructive and disturbing adult behavior seem almost innocent. His unique style is characterized by an amazing combination of colors, shading, and thick black lines.
Magic Pony & KidRobot will be releasing TEETER - an exclusive art figure at the opening reception. This figure is Joes first with KidRobot. The snaggle toothed, somewhat dizzy, 6" tall Teeter is evenly balanced and stands on any one leg or arm! As one of the hottest stars in designer toys this will be a must-have collectible.
ANNOUNCEMENT: Due to the extremely high demand for Teeter, Magic Pony will only be selling this figure through the Magic Pony (694 Queen Street West in Toronto) on Thursday November 9th. Thirty pieces of the figure will be available when the shop opens at 11am on Thursday November 9. The remaining pieces will be available during the opening reception of 'The Balancing Act', Joe Ledbetter's new solo exhibition in the Magic Pony Gallery. The opening reception runs from 6-10pm. Joe will be in attendance at the opening. Any Teeter's that are not sold during the opening reception will be put online at 10am Friday November 10. The Teeter figure will not be available to buy online or for phone order until November 10. We hope to see you at the opening!
